The Developer Digest - Episode # 01

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the very first episode of “The Developer Digest”.
The goal of this series is to achieve my goals, document my stuff, building things, experimenting with new stuff, learning and sharing every week.
Development Logs
Setting some things up:
As you know its start of new year, so every year for the past 2-3 years, I setup some goals for the year so i can have some direction of where to move this year.
Although, previous year, many of my goals were incomplete due to my inconsistency and laziness i guess.
But this year, i have made some realistic goals with some measurable metrices that i can evaluate later on.
So, I didn’t work on anything for now, just exploring where i did wrong last year, and setting up myself for this year and what i want to achieve.
I didn’t take YouTube seriously, I think i only started uploading regularly at last quarter of 2025 and I want to take this as serious habit. So, one of my goal is to be consistent with YouTube and get some subscribers to measure. For now, I set goal of 10k subscribers for 2026.
One of my inspirations in Building in Public “Wajahat Karim” dedicate a whole page in his website for 2026 goals.

You can visit here to see full: https://www.wajahatkarim.com/goals
Its good to keep yourself accountable and I was thinking of doing same. But I thought i should keep my goals private util its complete, so I will see if i should create a page or not.
Experiments
n8n
So, I started experimenting with n8n.
Some of my friends were using this and i saw many videos making workflows on it. So I thought i should give it a try.
Currently, I am working on automating my deployment stuff with vercel and github so it can be automated without me deploying everytime when my teammate commit something.

One of my friend told me about an agency working on AI automation and getting clients so I will also research on it to see if I got any idea for auomations that i can sell.
AI Exploration
One of my goals for this year is to deep dive into AI/ML stuff.
Not because its trending right now, but i find it very interesting. I went deep dive into it while working on my fyp where I have to fine tune an llm. That’s where i got to know and research some things about it and i got more interested day by day to explore more stuff.
I use substack on daily basis to read and write writing stuff mostly fiction stuff. I found some authors there that share AI stuff, like explaining architectures of models, writing about techniques etc. I also found a series where i person try to implement gpt 2 or 3 i guess from scratch like he was doing this all from literally scratch. I also found many more authors like these and I think that would be enough for me to start learning these things.
That’s it for this one.
Hope you like this first episode.
See you in the next one ;)
